November Causes

Hey everyone!

November is known as the month to give Thanks! To appreciate all the wonderful things you have, and the people in your life that mean the world to you.

One thing I have learned this year,is to never take ANYTHING for granted. Your whole life could change in a blink of an eye, bad or good.

Mine was in a negative way. It all started when I broke my foot in March. Doesn’t sound too serious, does it?

Well, after a month or so,instead of getting better, my foot only got worse. I was in extreme pain, and didn’t know why! After seeing 5 different doctors, they ALL confirmed that I have CRPS (Complex regional pain Syndrome– also known as RSD).

November is CRPS/RSD awareness month (It’s also my birthday month.. Go figure!)

I will be promoting CRPS and spreading awareness a lot throughout the month. It is something EVERYONE should know about! Anyone can get it, and it is usually caused by a simple sprain or fracture! When the 2nd doctor told me I had RSD, he literally said,” Yeah, you have RSD… You need PT,here is a referral, have a good day”.

Then walked out of the room. I looked at the nurse, and just asked…”What is RSD?”.
She didn’t even know. That is when I went home and started to do my research.

Going through this whole situation has reminded me what LRTR is about. Which is to Spread Awareness and raise funds for those causes that people rarely hear about, like CRPS. As well as promote causes that affect a large population of people (example:heart disease).

It is not a comforting feeling, sitting in the doctor’s office, after receiving life changing news about your health..and not having a clue what it i

If you have RSD/CRPS and would like to share your story (who/what/when/where/why/how/obstacles/etc.. PLEASE contact me!) I will be making a special post with stories from people around the world sharing their story, in hopes of helping others. You can leave a comment on here, tweet me on @urockyourcause!
