(CBS) — The Busted Foundation started in Los Angeles in 2007.
Now, it’s bringing its mission to Chicago at a special event at Slugger’s in Wrigleyville this Sunday.
The first annual “Batting for Boobies” will be held at Slugger’s on Sunday from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
“This is one of the few breast cancer charities that actually focus on supplying direct financial aid to women. Women can apply for a grant and we will give them money for things that they need, other than their treatment,” event organizer Aimee Allegretti says.
“The money can go to child care, mammogram screenings, hospital co-pays and deductible and any sort of living expenses that they need help paying for,” Allegretti says.
She says that what’s makes the event so unique.
